Costa Blanca Hotel managers expect half a million fewer British tourists this year compared to last years figures
The expected decline is blamed on the value of sterling against the Euro
This years figures released show that hotels in the Costa Blanca are already down by 10% with the number of British guests, but hotel managers expect the final figures will be around 25%, which relates to around a loss of half a million tourists.

Benidorm one of the most popular destinations for the British is expected to suffer the most with the shrinkage of the “pound”
The exchange rate means that a pint of beer at a Benidorm bar will cost 22% more for a British drinker than last year.
Added to the rising unemployment factor in Britain and things are not looking very promising at all.
Meanwhile El Altet airport in Alicante which serves the Costa Blanca has reported 59 fewer flights this Easter compared to last year, an indication the economic crisis and weakness of the pound is keeping people at home. The main reduction in numbers relates to flights to and from Britain.
